Even when the Mets win they lose, The injury bug hit the Mets once again in yesterday's 9-0 win over the Cardinals as 2 more Mets had to leave the game due to injury. 1st it was starter Jonathan Niese who while covering 1st to take the throw from SS Angel Berroa had to strech out as far as he could to receive the throw, and doing so he ended up doing a full split on the reach, Niese looked like one of those strippers who does the splits, OUCH, after getting up from his performance Niese then felt a little discomfort and so out came the trainers to look him up, after everything seemed OK, Niese was then given several tosses to ready himself before continuing on, well all it took was 1st warm up toss as Niese came down to the ground in agony, reaching for the back of his leg in obvious pain. Later in the game it was Gary Sheffield turn when he boomed one into the gap but would only get as far as 1st when he came up lame rounding 1st. The Mets won but lost two more players, take into account that on Tuesday Luis Castillo who got hurt when simply walking down the dugout steps fell and ended up spraining his ankle sending the 2nd basemen out of commission in the easiest of ways.
It really doesn't matter anymore, heck the season has been well over for quite some time now, but it is simply Amazing the lost of bodies that this team has been dealt with this season, as a Met fan all I can say is we must be cursed, but Lets go Mets!
