As a fan I understand you will cheer, if AROD was on the Mets and was helping us win games I guess somehow I would be cheering too, but at the same time I don't know, this is the same guy that once he became a Yankee back in 2004 I turned away from being a Yankee fan, it was the last straw for me, but that's another story.
A year ago he was suspended, shamed again for a 3rd time, but throughout the season he has produced as if he never stop taking PED's or whatever he's been accused of taking, it's like he never missed a beat and it makes you wonder if all this is even legit.
Love him or hate him as fans we move on, we are for the moment (what have you done for me lately?) So as long as AROD is helping the Yankees win games it will always be ok because as a society, (especially in the sports world) this is who we are, we forgive and forget, and last night it was all ok again.

It is what it is, like the famous Seinfeld bit that you root for the laundry. It's always funny to see people get on their high horse and say that they would never root for such a person but if they were on their team they would be rooting for them, at least you're up front about it that if he were on the Mets you would find a way to root for him. Here's the thing as I see it, he did his time and when he came back he's saying and doing all the right things and yes he's producing which is a big help but the thing is I think Yankees fans see how he's treated by the media and on the road (mostly justifiably so) and that just makes fans want to root for him more. Alex might be a jerk but he's our jerk.
