Yanks make it another comeback on Sunday
It was another comeback for the New York Yankees as they came back with the victory after suffering a letdown on Saturday that had the Yankees ready to win the game until the Ray's would score 4 times in the 9th off of Mariano Rivera to win the
game 9-7. But on this Sunday it was the Yankee's turn to come back on the Ray's in the 8th to score 3 runs and win the game 4-3 to even up the series. It would be a costly error by 3rd baseman Willy Aybar that would do the Ray's in that 8th inning when what would had been an inning ending double play was muffted up for the big play of the game. That tied it, then it was Hideki Matsui who beat out a slow grounder for the go ahead run as Mariano Rivera would come in the 9th to redeem himself with the save as the YANKEES WIN!
For the week the Yankees played 4-2 baseball as they stayed on top of their division ahead of the 2nd place Red Sox's by a half of game, as tonight the Yankees will continue their series with the Rays, and then it's off too Boston for a 3 game set with the Sox as they will try and beat the Sox's who have beaten the Yanks in all 5 games so far this season. Right now the Yankees seem to be a team who is never out until all 27 outs are recorded, as they have continue to play winning baseball by winning games in where it seems like everyone has been contributing in some sort of way especially in the last 20 or so games where it all started to go good for the Yankees following A-ROD's return. Texiera, A-ROD, Damon, Jeter, Cabrerra, Cano, and now Posada have all delivered in some sort of way which has catapulted the Yankees to the top. The pitching has been ok, nothing special, but it has been the grit in their offense that has been the key in their recent positive play of late.
After Boston this week, the Yanks come back home to face the Mets who come into the New Yankee Stadium for the 1st time, as the Subway series gets underway. All I can say is LET'S GO METS!!!
