When you turn on the TV to see how things are going along with the world champs & their spring training happenings, what you see most of the times is alot of unknowns in Yankee pinstripes. The Yankees know who will be out on the field when opening day comes around & that is why you see what you see, only recently it's been the Derek Jeter's, the Cano's the Texiera's back on a regular basis as they get ready for some real baseball soon.

The Yankees know who will be out on the field when opening day comes around & that is why you see what you see, only recently it's been the Derek Jeter's, the Cano's the Texiera's back on a regular basis as they get ready for some real baseball soon. The changes & the new faces that you expect to see by opening day is that Javier Vasquez will be your #4, Randy Winn & Brett Gardner will most likely share Johnny Damon's slot, that Curtis Granderson will be the new CF instead of Melky, & that Nick Johnson will spell Hideki Matsui in the DH. Other then that it's the same team from last year & that everything is pretty much in place.
If there was one unclear position up for grabs with the NY Yankees it's the battle for the #5 guy in the rotation. The candidates for #5 where guys like Alfredo Aceves, Sergio Mitre, the no-longer a Yankee Chad Gaudin, & the 2 youngsters, Phillip Hughes & Joba Chamberlian.
The word out on the streets is that the Yankees have gave Phil Hughes the nod, Hughes who was very impressive last year once he got a hold of the 8th inning role will get another chance to be a starter. The time is now for Hughes to step up and hold it. But for Joba Chamberlian his roller coaster of inconsistency continues, most likely he will now man the 8th inning role, a role where he is more fitted. I've said it before that this is where Joba belong, this is where he made his mark when he 1st burst into the scene as a fiery fist pumping, in total control & confident dominate pitcher. This is where I see him shining with the possibility to replace Mariano Rivera in the future once Mo is no more.
Danny you said come back to you on this topic after spring training when I 1st did my spring training write up, well with still a week to go the decision has been made. To me he does not have the attention span to stay focused to be a more then serviceable starter. Give Joba a inning to do his thing & this is where he can be successful. I like Joba & I even root for the guy at times believe it or not, he has had a rough time with his upbringing, his dad is not in the best of shape, his moms & her personal problems, & with the Yankees not knowing what is best for him, things have not been easy for Joba. Hopefully they will leave him alone where he is now, in the bullpen.
With the Yankee this spring, this is what there is. Real baseball begins in a week, so until then, real Yankee talk will have to wait.
If your wondering who is the funny looking Yankee on the pic with the weak swing, it's Billy Crystal from last years spring training action, only the Yankees.

Wow, you're so clever by busting out a picture of Billy Crystal taking a swing.
Please grant me access to this blog so we can have some real fun with photographs.
Hey I was making a point with that pic & post, Danny wasn't please with my previous post because it was all Mets & didn't mention anything about his Yanks, my thing is that there is really nothing to talk about with the Yanks right now until spring baseball is over. Everything is pretty much ech in stone with the Yanks, the Billy Crystal pic only validates my point even though the pic was from last year.
Hey since you and Danny want to write & post some pics, you 2 should get together & start up a new blog, it may take a few of you to come up with some good stuff.
First of all that was 2 years ago. Get your facts straight. Secondly, we tried doing a blog where all 3 of us post stuff but you went and started this one and that was that.
What exactly was your point and how was it validated?
What do you mean, 1st that blog we opened up was between me & you, it was before Danny came around, plus you would write like once a year so I did my own thing, I'm just saying.
Again my point was for Danny who was not happy about my previous post because I did not mention anything about the Yankee.
My point is that there is really nothing to write about when it comes to the Yankee right now because spring training for them is like going through the motions, my Billy Crystal pic is kind of like how spring training is with them, and I did say it was like 2 years ago so the facts were clear. I'm just saying you look at the Yankees in these games & it's a bunch of no names.
I hate to be the type of guy that nitpicks but I'm going to have to be that type of guy:
"If your wondering who is the funny looking Yankee on the pic with the weak swing, it's Billy Crystal from last years spring training action, only the Yankees."
"Everything is pretty much ech in stone with the Yanks, the Billy Crystal pic only validates my point even though the pic was from last year."
Yea so?
Like I clearly stated, even if the Billy Crystal pic is from last year, everything is ech in stone when it comes to the Yankees & spring training because it's not like anyone has to really battle it out to win a job (with the exception of the #5 starter job which already has been decided), the defending Champions are like going through the motions & waiting for real baseball to begin in April.
Now isn’t that the truth?
Where do you have a problem with that?
Is it because I posted a measly pic from this year to poke fun?
Anyways lets just leave it at that & wait for real baseball to begin in a few short days.
I will bite my tounge and let it go.
Yeah Ray, bite your tounge and let it go.
real baseball has begun.
