It's on, Phillies end streak.

Tonight's national televise game of the week will be the rubber game between the 2 NL East rivals. Thanks to the effing Phillies the 8 game winning streak the Mets were riding on is now over. If one pitcher was going to end the streak you have to be ok that it was Roy Halladay who was able to shout out the Mets for the 1st time this season. Yes it was Halladay who threw another complete game as he kept the Mets to 3 hits while striking out 6. For Mike Pelphey it was his 1st lost of the season, he was doing his thing early on matching Halladay but that was only for the 1st 3 innings until it all fell apart in a hurry with a 6 run 4th by the Phillies. It was a couple of near misses that kind of broke the Mets backs in this one, 1st 1 by Jose Reyes who could not snag the soft liner by Utley to start the inning, and then one by Alex Cora who with runners on 2nd & 1st & no outs, nearly had what could had been a possible triple play if he would had made the over the shoulder catch that popped out of his glove for the 1st run of the game, that led to a Juan Castro 2 run double capped by a Shane Victorino 3 run bomb that blew the game wide open, game over.

With the win by the Phils tonight's decisive rubber game means 1st place will be on the line. Lucky for the Mets they got the ace Johan Santana going tonight while the Met bats will face the aging Jamie Moyer. The Mets will look for Santana to keep them in 1st place as they look to start another win streak and avoid 2 L's in a row to end the week.
