What a weekend, it all ended with the Mets letting one get away on Sunday and with the Yankees coming back for the huge win. But the big story was the distraction brought up on Friday by Matt Harvey and his super agent Scott Boras who blew up the baseball world.

Yup with the Mets in the middle of a pennant race the messenger Scott Boras and the Mets ace started playing mind games. We all ready know the story with the innings limits and the possibility of shouting it down and when the story 1st broke out I wanted to blame Scott Boras. But I wanted to wait and see what Matt Harvey had to say, I wanted to see if Matt Harvey was going to man up and take control of the situation but when he finally spoke to the media that never really happened.

There he was on Saturday addressing the media dancing around all the questions, Matt Harvey gave no straight answers and he was now messing around with the fanbase and now the NY Mets had a circus around them. Everything had been going as plan and now these 2 wanted to throw us a curveball.

All season long the Mets have been extra careful with Matt Harvey, they were the 1st to bring up the 6 man rotation and when they did it was Matt Harvey who harped on it voicing his displeasure, they had skipped starts and again Harvey didn't like it cause it messed up with his routine.

The Mets have treated Matt Harvey with kids gloves all along looking out for him and protecting their investment but he wanted to be a macho man when they did and he wanted to pitch through it when they implemented all the safety rules and now he wants to shout it down.

As much as I don't like Scott Boras I understand he is the agent and that he is looking out for client but how is he looking out for Matt Harvey when he is giving him bad advice and turning him against the fans, his teammates, management, and making him look like a real buffoon?

Who is going to defend this mess? and why would I want to pay this guy who does not seem to want to pitch in a pennant race? I thought baseball players played the game for a chance to play some October baseball and here is Matt Harvey avoiding the bright lights and the playoffs.

Matt Harvey still has 3 years to go before he hits the open market and it seems to be the only thing he is thinking about.

Matt Harvey is supposed to be Tom Seaver on this Mets team but he is no franchise player. He has only 24 major leagues wins under his belt and he thinks he can act out like this? Doc Gooden had 24 wins in 1985 alone!

All Matt Harvey has done is acted like a prima donna who can't wait to be out the door and sign with the NY Yankees or the LA Dodgers and I say it time to say good riddance. I say thank you for the 3 years and lets trade him this off season.

The guy has turned into a cancer and now I can't stand to watch him in the dugout with the rest of the Mets who have played the game as a team.

MLB is about winning division titles, pitching in October and winning World Series Championships, not about preserving pitchers arms and quitting on your team.

The Mets have Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz and it's not like the Mets can keep all these pitchers so good bye Matt Harvey.

Personally, I like DeGrom more than Harvey. If I had to pick one to have on my team I'd go with DeGrom. With that said, Harvey might be getting bad advice from Boras but at the end of the day the agent works for the player not the other way around. So now Harvey went on the Players Tribune to try and deflate the controversy but like you said he really has no one to blame here but himself because the Mets, in a rare moment of actually doing the smart thing, tried to protect him by skipping starts and having a 6 man rotation but Harvey balked at that. Now, If I'm the Mets I would solve 2 problems with 1 solution, move Harvey to the pen for the stretch run. Imagine having Harvey looming to come in and pitch the 7th-8th inning? I doubt that's a real possibility but it would solve the innings issue and fix the Mets bullpen issues in one shot.
My guess is what happens now is that you won't see Harvey on the Mets in 2016. The Mets have an abundance of starting pitching and trading Harvey could yield a big return. That would be the smart move for the Mets.

I like deGrom over Harvey as well, he is just a better teammate and he is just as talented, it's no secret that the agent works for the player but this agent here is not someone I want my players to be associated with, Scott Boras works for Harvey but at the same time Scott Boras works for Boras as well, he's strickly thinking about dollars and that is his job but damm this fucker is just a bad guy IMO.

I heard that about moving Harvey in the bullpen and making him the 7th inning guy but I just don't see it happening, remember who his agent is. I really wish the Mets would just trade him next year, like I said we have enough pitchers and you can't keep them all and I for sure won't give this guy all the money he and his agent is going to ask for. Give that money to Cespedes.
