Jenrry Mejia caught for a 3rd time in a year is now banned forever from playing MLB.
3 strikes and your out Jenrry!
It's sad that Mejia had to go this route when preparing for the upcoming season but apparently without the stuff Jenrry Mejia was not major league worthy, I mean how else do you explain this?
To be honest I was surprise that the Mets were willing to bring back Mejia after his 2nd suspensions cause I thought the Mets should had let him walk but I guess the Mets thought it was still worth bringing him back, well it was a mistake and here we are today. Sandy Alderson has made some good moves but this one right here was not one of them.
Now with his 3rd suspension Jenrry Mejia's days as a major leaguer are done, I guess there is always the Korean or Japanese leagues or even the Mexican leagues where Mejia can continue to make money while playing the great game of baseball it just won't be in the majors.
I remember Mejia being compared to the great Mariano Rivera when he 1st came up as a 21 year old in 2010 because of his cutter but as the years went by Mejia was mostly one of those guys who would spent more time on the DL then on the field. He did have some success as the Mets closer but I was not a big fan of him and antics on the mound, also I just didn't think he had the right makeup for the job.
It is sad but it is simple, Jenrry Mejia fucked up.
Keeping up with the negative stuff I bring up some old Yankee news, a few weeks ago we heard about Greg Bird and the bad news that he will be out for the entire upcoming season.
Obviously a setback for the Yankees and their fanbase who saw Bird come up late last season and bring some real hope and promise when it comes to their future. Greg Bird came up out of nowhere to fill in for Mark Texiera who was having a comeback year until he got hurt and Greg Bird did not disappoint as he filled in nicely as we got to see what the future looks like at 1B for the NY Yankees.
It was Greg Bird and Luis Severino who both gave fans in the BX some young excitement last season but now with Bird out for 2016 Yankees fans will have to wait and hope that Mark Texiera can come back like he did in 2015 instead of hoping that Tex got hurt and out of the way of Bird.

Greg Bird was not expected to be the starting 1B in 2016 since Mark Texiera still has another year left on his contract, but he was someone to really get excited about and look forward too in 2016 but now Yankee fans will have to wait another year for the Bird.

Yeah, Mejia might be the dumbest guy out there. To get caught 3 times?!!? Oh well, like you said maybe he'll be able to play overseas.
Tough break for the Yankees and losing Bird, hopefully Tex can stay healthy this season and play a good 140-145 games and the Yankees can get by with a platoon of back ups at 1st. If not, then they'll have to go the free agent or trade route. Can't wait for the season to start.
I wonder how many like Mejia are out there?
It a setback, asking Tex for 140 games may be asking for too much, Yanks will have to get someone during the season.
We'll see about Tex. He played great last year and the way he got hurt it was a freak type of play than anything. I know the Yankees were looking at Ike Davis but he ended up signing with Texas.
