Early results

The Mets were off last night so I took some time to put a little something out. So here we are today a little over a week into the season and so far the team with the expectations in NY is off to a slow start, at 3-5 the Mets offense has yet to get on track and some have begun to lose patient. Curtis Granderson is only hitting 097, Travis dArnaud is of to a slow start, no one is really hitting.

This was not the start to the season I was looking for but we must not forget that we play 162 games in baseball. So far the Yankees find themselves at 4-4 hanging around at the 500 mark after losing their series last night to the Jays. So far they have gotten some good production early on from Starling Castro and Brian McCann on offense while Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller lead the way when it comes to the pitching. They come back home tonight to host the 3-6 Seattle Mariners as Luis Severino makes only his 2nd start of the season.

The Mets are off on the road to start a 9 game road trip that starts off with the Cleveland Indians. Bartolo Colon get the ball tonight as he too will be making his 2nd start as the Mets look to get on some sort of win streak after snapping a 4 game losing streak. The Mets just have to start hitting but I do have some early concerns, Jacob deGrom's velocity has been an issue since spring training and now I'm are hearing about this lat issue? Matt Harvey is off to a 0-2 start and has looked very average out of the gate, and Steven Matz got belted around in his only start. So far the pitching has not been stellar and only Noah Syndergaard has looked like THOR.

Yea it is still too early to give out grades but I do like what I seen from Asdrubal Cabrera, so far he has looked really smooth and steady on defense.

As of today we have both the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals off to a 7-1 start leading the divisions at the moment, but lets see where things are in a couple of more weeks. Talk to me sometime in late May where we can make a better assessment.

So need to panic folks, things are just beginning to warm up.

That's all I got for now, but if you think I missed something hit me up and lets chat it up.

Yeah, both teams are not off to a great start but its so early that you can't really worry about it. I haven't watched much of the Mets but I did see that one game where Collins was managing like it was a playoff game, that type of thing would concern me as a fan but you would hope that its an isolated occurrence. I know the Mets will be ok, the pitching is too good for them not to and the bats will wake up. Yankees have been ok, kind of what I expected of them thus far. I'm really looking forward to when Chapman joins the team in a couple of weeks. I will say this, the Mets better have their shit together for that weekend series with the giants.

Yea Collins did over manage in that game, I guess he was a bit worry at the time about the team off to a slow start but he got called for it and since has chilled out. But yea still to early thought, give me another 2 weeks and well see where things are at.

Betances and Miller are already killing it, you throw in Chapman and forgetabouutit.
