Yankees stumble, finish week at 3-3

The Yankees let one get away on Sunday when Joe Girardi brought in Phil Coke up 4 to 3 with a runner on 1st and 2 outs in the 8th. Coke gave up consecutive hits to Brayan Pena, Alberto Callaspo and John Buck and took the lost 6 to 4, as the Royals rallied for their 3rd win of the season.
Joba Chamberlian made his season debut giving the Yanks 6 innings of work and although he left the game down 3-1, he still had a chance for the victory when the Yankees scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to grab a 4-3 lead. But when Coke came in to try and get 1 out, it all came crashing down for Joba and the Yanks.
With the lost the Yankees now fall to a record of 3-3, same as the Mets, and now get ready for a series vs the division rivals Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.

Considering that the Yankees lost the 1st 2 games of the season with the fans already wilding out for the 2 loses, the Yankees still have to feel good even with the bad lost on Sunday. Mark Texiera has not played in a few days, and CC Sabathia was great on Saturday. The hottest hitters in the 1st week of the season are Robinson Cano and Nick Swisher who are both hitting over 400 to start off the young season. The negative has to be Hideki Matsui who is only hitting 143 at the moment.
