Mets stunned in whale of a lost

The Mets & Phillies played an afternoon game yesterday that the fans at Citifield will remember for it's wild finish, with plenty of Phillie's fan on hand in the stands and Pedro Martinez back on a NY mound to face his former team, the stands were alive. Before Pedro would take the mound he was handed a 6-0 lead thanks too Ollie Perez who had another meltdown when he gave up 2, 3 run homers and would not even get out of the 1st inning. Before Perez would even record the 1st out, he had already thrown 40 pitches when on his 41st pitch was then taken deep 1st by Jason Wertz for the 1st 3 run bomb, and then by Carlos Ruiz who took Perez deep for another 3 run bomb as the Phils led 6-0 before the Mets took their licks. Perez was now trying to get Pedro Martinez for the 3rd out of the inning but fell behind Pedro 3-0, that was enough for Jerry Manuel as he had seen enough Ollie as Jerry came out to lift Perez in the middle of the at bat against the opposing pitcher, embarrassing. In the bottom of the Mets 1st things would get a little weird when Angel Pagan led off the inning drilling one in the gap that got stuck in the base of the wall as Shane Victorino who could had just pick up the ball himself decided to sell it as a ground rule double and instead Pagan kept on running for an inside the park homerun. The Mets would score another run in the 1st and would chip away throughout the game but would never come within 3 runs as they entered the 9th where it all ended in stunning fashion. Brad Lidge on the mound now to close it immediately gave up a quick run when Pagan got one by Ryan Howard that was called an error and went all the way to 3rd, was then followed by Luis Castillo who grounded one to the Phillie's 2nd baseman Jason Bruntlett who misplayed it into another error as Pagan scored to get within 2 runs of the Phils, up next was Daniel Murphy who's bouncer up the middle was missed by Bruntlett once again, the Phillies were melting as Bruntlett was ready for the old goat of the game trophy. The fans were now ready to explode, ready for another feel good win vs their arch rivals, the tying runs were on and there were no out as up came Jeff Francouer who had just made a great catch in the previous inning to keep the game within striking distance for the Mets and was now ready to try and play hero, Lidge looking perplexed delivered to the plate as Francouer drilled one that would had been a line drive hit up the middle but because Jerry Manuel had sent the runners the ball was snagged by Bruntlett himself who was covering the back end of the steal at 2nd, he then step on 2nd for the 2nd out, then threw to 1st for the 3rd out and turned it into a game ending triple play. AMAZING!
Only the Mets! Francouer and the rest of the Mets were left in a total daze out on the field as they had just witness an ending they could have not imagined, Phillies win 9-7.

Pedro pitched 6 inning and got the win thanks to the runs support for his 2 win without a lost. Angel Pagan would homer again going over the wall this time against Pedro. Luis Castillo had 3 more hit to raise his average to 321, and has to be a candidate for comeback player of the year. Sean Green stunk it up again and here is a guy who should not be back if I'm the Mets brass, this guy has only shown that he cannot pitch in NY and need to get the Aaron Heilman treatment and hit the road.
