So tonight the 1st place New York Yankees get ready to face the one team they haven't been able to beat this year, the 2nd place Boston Red Sox. It will be a battle for sure as both teams measure themselves for a 3rd time this season, who will win this time around is up for grabs. Earlier in the year the Red Sox showed the Yankees who was boss but that was then and this is now, right now the Yankees have been winning games and right now they are the ones in 1st place so with one simple win tonight they can push the Sox's further out, 3 and half games back, creating some feel good distance with a good showing in the series. Things could get even better for Yankee and their fans if the bombers can win 3 out of 4. For the Sox's who were struggling just last week and dealing with all the Big Papi steroids issues, it will be a chance for them to get back on top of the division again if they can continue their domination of the Yanks. They have gotten themselves back on track this week and have even supplemented their team with some new players to help boost their chances in the final stretch. For both teams it will come down to which team will have the better bullpen, I have been saying all along that this is where the Yankees need to show if they can really hang if they get to the postseason, cause everywhere else they seem to be hey ok.
Tonight baseball lovers will cue in on baseball biggest rivalry as the 2 teams will be licking their chops once again for divisional supremacy.
Joba Chamberlian who has put together a couple of stellar outings will go up against the struggling veteran in John Smoltz who is 2-7 with a ERA of over 7, as he will be making his 1st start in this old rivalry.
If your a Yankee fan all you're saying is that we can't be swept again, no way is this going to happen, but you also have be thinking that just 1 win in this series just won't do, 3 games is what your looking for, 2 and they OK. So get ready for tonight as the Bronx will be burning.

Yanks started the series exactly the way every Yankee fan wanted, by putting a beatdown on the Sox. Have to keep it going and win at least 2 more.
Man Freddy you are weird. The Sux didn't "struggle last week." They lost two games to Tampa before that they won three consecutive games and gained three consective games on the Yanks. I don't call that struggling. The Sux feel like they made the right deal at the deadline but they didn't. They needed pitching not hitting. I think their pissed cause they didn't get Texeira. Tex is a better all around player BY FAR and no amount of hitting can beat decent pitching. Joba struggled last night and the Yanks handed out about 11 walks last night and Bos couldn't take advantage? YIKES!
Man I got home at around 9 turned on the TV and the 1st thing I saw was Big Papi smiling, I thought well the Sox's must be winning, I don't why he was smiling cause it was the other way around, I think at that time the Yanks were winning 6-3, came back to check out the game a few innings later and it got worst.
I didn't get to see the whole Posada incident, but all I herd on WFAN was about that, what your take?
The Sox's have not been playing good ball lately, maybe I should had said in the last 10 days instead of last week, but the truth is that they have not been playing good ball, all you have to do is look at that beatdown from last night.
Everyone needs pitching but you cant fault them for getting Martinez because they did lost some offense with Lowell and now Bay out, I'm sure they would had like to had landed Texiera but it didn't happen, still I don't think they going about it all pissed.
Joba struggled and so did Smoltz, lucky for the Yanks they had way more fire power.
Tonight's game should be a little more compititive as far as the pitching goes.

Yeah tonight should make for an interesting matchup. I doubt you will see the Burnett that gave up a 6-0 lead. He is DEFINTELY a different pitcher from that guy. The Yanks don't necessarily have to beat Beckett, they just have to up his pitch count by the fourth or fifth and get into that ridiculously over-hyped sox bullpen. Only ESPN could piss red sux on you and tell you it's raining. They think that Paplebum is the greatest thing since sliced bread. That guy, this year has turned into a Wetteland. He gets the job done (most of the time) inefficiently with a lot of drama in between.
Anyway, I don't know what Posada incident you are talking about unless you are talking about his dumbass in the beginning of the game not sliding home. That was truly dumb of him if that's what you are referring to.
I didn't see that play by Posada not sliding, all I know is that last night while I was listening to WFAN, instead of hering Yankees fans happy about the win, all I herd was them complaing about Posada and the play,

Those are the "NEW" Yankees Fans. Old ones don't call that filth of a station. All they do is peddle crap. That fat ass Francesca is full of shit. You and my brother should get together and listen the Fan. Anyway, Posada should have scored on a single but instead of sliding he walked to home where he was tagged out thinking the throw wasn't coming. It was dumb of Posada to assume that but the guy was a triple short of the cycle. I ain't hating because the next time he came through home he barreled in. He learned a lesson.
Well to me WFAN is just a station that I like to listen and get a reaction from the fans after the game, I know what you mean about some fans going a little bit over, but there are good and bad fans alike, you just have be able to tell who the good fans are, or in your words the old and new fans.
But still it is a station where real fans, or bandwagon fans, can call in and voice their opinions, smart or dumb opinions, I was just perplexed about that particular incedent with Posada, plus you were also not happy about what happened, but happy Posada came back to redeem himself.
