Just playing out the season, Mets lose again

What has been the most disappointing season in Mets History continued on last night in a game vs the NL Wildcard leaders the Colorado Rockies, where what you got was more of the same from the Mets who did manage to stay in the game up until the 8th inning where it all fell apart for Brain Stokes and the Mets. It would be the 2nd time during this recent road trip that Stokes has come into a game only to blow it up and lose it, with the game tied at 2 he started the 8th and got Todd Helton for the 1st out of the inning but he then walked Troy Tulowitzki who was then followed by a Brad Hawpe double that made it 2nd and 3rd and 1 out for the Rockies, Stokes now in some trouble then intentionally walked Ian Stewart to load the base for Clint Barmes who was schedule to hit next, but then Rockie's manager Jim Tracy then inserted his newest pinch hitter delux in Jason Giambi who the night before made his Rockies debut in another pinch hit situation and walked, this time the former Yankee who 2 months ago was let go by the Oakland A's and then picked up by the Rockies last month is now back in the bigs as a 38 year old September call up ready to contribute off the bench with his new team in searcch for a possible playoff run, with the bases loaded and the game on the line the very selective Giambi was ready for Stokes 1st offering as he jumped all over a fastball and lined it just out of reach of SS Anderson Hernandez for Giambi's 1st hit as a Rockie, driving in 2 runs and the game winner as the Mets would go on to lose it once again. Jeff Francouer had tied the game in the 4th with a homerun off of Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez who went 8 innings to improve his record to 13-10, in a 106 pitch performance where he reached 99mph several times even in the 8th.

It has been a season where nothing has gone right for the Mets, since the beginning of May one by one the core has been going down the tubes. You wont come up with many bright spots when you reflect back on the 2009 season, certainly nothing to smile about for sure, but we did see David Wright back in action giving Met fans something to cheer and laugh about with his new big helmet, boy that was a sight, I also saw Carlos Beltran before the game sounding very positive as he was getting himself ready for a minor league rehab start, he said he feels 100% and is getting ready to come back and finish out the season,. now some may say what for? but it sure is nice to see when player of Beltran's statue is at least trying to come back when he could had very easily sit out the rest of the season knowing there is really nothing to play for, it tells me that Beltran is not just one of those players who only cares about the money and that he is a team player that cares.

Soon this horror movie of a season will be over but 1st the Mets must play this out before we can move ahead and end it.

The most disappointing Mets season ever? Give me a little bit, I could come up with a couple more.

Maybe disappointing is not the right word, can’t think of another word to use for what was the 2009 Mets season, look with the new park which was suppose to be a new beginning, with being picked to win it all by SI which of course is never a good thing, with the rash of injuries which really was reason the Mets didn’t even have a chance.

If you have another season that was worst then this one as far as expectations goes, let me here about it.
