Can the Mets win another series?

Well now that we have avoided the sweep, it's time to get the job done & win the series. It was not easy as we had to sweat bullets in the end but on this night we were able to say we won, because a let it get away lost would had been to much to take. Thanks to Mike Pelfhey the Mets kept the Yankee offense at bay until he had reach the magical 100 pitch limit so it was time to hold your breath as the Yanks began to get closer. The big inning was the 7th when Jerry Manuel went with the kid to relieve BIG Pelf, and for a minute it looked like it was going to get away from us right away. Luckily for the Mets Jenrry Mejia was able to get out of it untouched, yea he made you sweat. It was the 1st time Jerry Manuel went with the kid as the 1st out of the bullpen instead of the usual suspects of Fernando Nieve & Pedro Feliciano, who still got some action in this game, 1 & 2 in the majors in appearances out of the bullpen. Looks like Jerry is about to give more duty to the young Dominican who all season has been babied along.

It was a big game for David Wright who came up big twice in this one so for one night we have to give him a break. The Mets were able to put a L on Phil Hughes who loses for the 1st time this season, but it was the Yankees bats who didn't do their job on this night as they were leaving guys on base all night long, not a good night for Mark Texiera who is in another slump. K-ROD was big on this night as he came in when Jerry Manuel had ran out of real options, & it was a well earned 5 out save by the fist pumper, the 1st real big save of the season. Now we have a rubber game for tonight's game so let's pray that Johan is able to forget what happened to him the last time he faced the Yankees cause I haven't. 15-0 beat down.

Ray at least Pelphey was able to get you the win, so I guess there was some good to your night.

Johan vs C.C. on ESPN Sunday night Baseball with the 2 dolts Joe Morgan & Jon Miller, so turn on the radio.

So was it that the Mets won last night or that the Yankees lost? Yanks left 13 men on base last night, thats not going to get it done.

Yeah, at least Pelfrey got me a win last night so that helped me out.

You know how much I dislike Morgan, I might have to go with Sterling and Waldman on the radio.

Last but certainly not least some sad news out of the D.R. this morning, Jose Lima passed away. Lima was a true character, always out there having a good time. RIP Jose Lima.

Saw this today online:

A Mets Fan To New York Yankees: Please Sweep Us!
Dave Doyle by
Dave Doyle
Correspondent Written on May 22,

For the first time in the history of the Subway Series I think to myself "Could the New York Yankees please put us out of our misery and sweep us?"

A sweep by the Yankees would go a long way towards putting the final nail in the coffin of the Omar Minaya era. Jerry Manuel can stay.

Will the Yankees help us? Can the Yankees actually hurt us by losing these games and leaving Omar’s job intact for the time being? That being said, the Yankees have already won this series before it even starts.

If the Mets sweep, we still lose because Omar will still be employed. If the Yankees sweep, we lose. If the Yankees win two out of three, we lose. I just don’t see any winning scenarios here.

Hopefully, this is the last time I have to say this to my fellow Mets fans: Root for the Yankees. Put the final nail in Omar’s coffin for us. This team needs a change of direction and only letting Omar go will change the direction of this team.

But are the Yankees up to helping us? They have injury problems of their own but they’re still the defending champs.

Please, Yankees… sweep us.

Show us the light at the end of the tunnel.

Damm Waldman and Sterling, that's not much of a upgrade, but an upgrade it is.

Damm what the hell happened to Lima? Don't tell me he had a car incident or something like that, Let me go to El Listin Diario & find out.

Speak for yourself Dave Doyle, If he don't like the Mets because of Omar then he should root for another team. As we all know Omar is just the puppet who does whatever the Wilpon's say. I think this is about money with the Mets and the Wilpons, there is none so Omar is limited. That's just me.

Just read that Lima had a heart attack, hmmmm... yea he was a good guy who was over the top with his on the field antics, but like you said he was always out there having a good time & that was just not out on the playing field, he liked to drink and who knows maybe some of that white stuff, he was always out there after games in the DR clubbing and being loud just like you saw on the field. To me, whenever I saw him, he just seemed like that type of character, of course I'm just assuming cause I saw him a couple of times out and about in the DR, but a heart attack at 37 seems like those actors who die young all because of the hard drugs.

Still R.I.P
