Yes right now the Yanks seems like the only team to be taken serious in the division, the offense has put up plenty of run support doing it with their trademark the long ball. This is sort of a surprise to me, I thought scoring runs would be a problem because like I said in my 1st post, this is pretty much the same group of guys that struggled to score as last year only a year older, but so far they have produced like the back of their cards proving me wrong.
Early team MVP candidates Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury are providing more consistency and chemistry than last season as a 2 headed monster at the top of the order, Mark Teixera and Alex Rodriguez have fallen on hard times in the last few seasons but so far they have been 2 positives that have provided the long ball in the middle, other surprises to the offense has been former Mets Chris Young who has been more than just a 4th outfielder, Young who after sucking with the Mets in 2014 was released and picked up by the Yanks where he quickly transformed into an all star for the remainder of 2014, that got him a 1 year deal and he has continued his change of luck in 2015 which has helped masked Carlos Beltran's poor start, and Chase Headley and Brian McCann have done enough and should only get better., so far so good, well see.
C.C. Sabathia has struggled once again but there is still time for him to try and find himself, Adam Warren and Chase Whitley are simply stop gap guys that certainly are not the answer either, the rotation is not that strong, the good news is that Ivan Nova has begun to throw again and if Nova can make it back and be good again it will be a big lift for sure, Chris Capuano is also trying to get back but you can't really get too excited about him. Yes the pitching has held up so far but it has also begun to break down, former ace Masahiro Tanaka is currently on the DL with his lingering arm problems not likely to go away, look for the Yankees to ad another quality arm to help solidify and boost the rotation, it is their weak spot. Now the bullpen has held up just fine thanks to the duo of Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller who have been lights yet to allow a run, right now they are the best 8th and 9th innings guys in the game, with these 2 all the Yankees need is 7 innings and you got yourself a win.
6 weeks into the season and the Yankees are back to winning, the division is up for grabs and the evil empire just might take it, every team will have their share of injuries along the way of 162 games but if the Yankees could avoid key injuries to Gardner, Ellsbury, Pineda, Betances and Miller, they should be able to fend off the pretenders in the AL east, hopefully I'm wrong.

Ok, where to begin? Lets go point by point:
- The AL east race you forgot the Rays who have really been a surprise thus far, especially when you take into consideration all of the injuries that they've had.
- As for the Yankees run production right now they're getting good power numbers from Tex and ARod but the big question is how long can they keep this up? The silver lining is that Carlos Beltran finally seems to have woken up, he's batting over .400 with 2HRS and RBI's over his last 8 games. The duo of Ellsbury and Gardner (who you put down in your Yankees preview earlier this season) is wreaking havoc right now. Chris Young has been great for the Yankees providing timely hitting and good defense and it allows Girardi to rest an outfielder basically every day.
- Pineda has been lights out thus far, he did get hit in KC but that has been his only bad start of the season. Now, CC has struggled? If you just look at his W-L it does appear that way but why don't we take a closer look at this? Through his first 6 starts the Yankees scored a grand total of 12 runs for him, not exactly a lot of wiggle room and if you want to break it down even more of the last 4 of those 6 starts the Yankees scored 6 runs, 2 of those games he lost by 1 run (2-1 and 3-2) So lets look at his last 2 starts, 14 innings pitched, 12 hits, 4 ER and 14ks and most importantly the Yankees have scored 16 runs to go along with his impressive pitching. Has he been lights out? Far from it but as you see there is way more to it than just his W-L record when you dig a bit deeper. As a fan I can only hope that he continues pitching well and that the Yankees give him some run support so that he doesn't feel like he's walking a high wire each start.
For the rest of staff getting Capuano back will be good because he's a good back of the rotation guy and Tanaka has been throwing without any issues so hopefully he'll back soon and Nova should be back in a month or so I'm going to stay optimistic about the Yankees in 2015.
I don't remember putting down Ellsbury and Gardner, to me those 2 are you're best players. I still say the Yanks offense will suffer much like it did last year, I don't think AROD and TEX will keep hitting, Beltran is done.
Yea C.C. should be ok as your #3 who will have a high era but who will give you innings.
As for the rest of the rotation, Nova is the only guy to get excited about coming back, as for Tanaka staying healthy and being effective, that to me seems like a lot to ask for a guy with arm problems.
