So it's official, the NY Mets are going to the World Series after finishing off the Chicago Cubs in 4 straight games.
It was supposed to be a series of 2 upstart organizations, a battle of the Cubs young power bats vs the young power arms of the Mets but in the end the NY Mets made it a one sided contest.
The Mets could do no wrong, everything Terry Collins and the Mets wanted to do they did while the Cubbies who were ahead of schedule simply were not ready for prime time. They were not ready for that Mets starting pitching and Juerys Familia's filthiness at the end of games. They were not ready for that Mets offense who got on often and early. The Mets never trailed in this series and by the 2nd inning it was 6-0 Mets, another ambush, the knockout blow! Then came the icing on the cake in the 8th when Daniel Murphy got his daily HR and set a new major league record, give that guy a
contract!
The Mets are now the NL Champions, resting and waiting to start the WS, waiting for the winner between the Toronto Blue Jays or the Kansas City Royals.

Great job by the Mets. Like I texted you on Tuesday, they went straight for the jugular in game 4 and didn't give the Cubs even the chance to breathe. That's what championship teams do.
If I'm you, I'm rooting hard for the Jays right now. I think the Mets beat both the Jays or Royals but the Royals would be the tougher out.
Yea if I had my preference I like to face the Blue Jays over the Royals but both are going to be tough. I just think the Mets pitchers feast on HR swinging teams like the Jays, the Royals are a contact hitting team, they go for the base hit, plus there bullpen is better.
I do think the Mets lineup will hit the Royals starting pitching good.
