WS game 1

After 14 innings of baseball it was a tough one for the NY Mets who had it and let it slip away.
2 outs away from taking game 1 but Alex Gorden took Juerys Familia over the deepest part and stunned the Mets.

It was only game 1 but now the Mets have to bounce back tonight and they need to play a better game. From the get go the Mets were not crisp and they made too many mistakes, Yoenis Cespedes who missed the players introductions set the tone when he botched a fly ball into an inside the park HR, then in the 14th it was David Wright who opened the door for the Royals and gave Eric Hosmer the chance to redeem himself from his Bill Buckner moment earlier in the game.

It was a great game but if you were rooting on the Mets it did not feel so great cause looking back and dissecting the game they simply didn't get it done.

They had Matt Harvey going into the 6th with a 3-1 lead and he could not hold it down. We all heard how the Royals are a fastball hitting team but you can't let them dictate the game. Matt Harvey went with his secondary pitches in this one and he was not sharp only throwing 80 pitches and he was done. It was not the type of game I expected from the Dark Knight.

Tonight it's a must win, with Jacob deGrom on the mound and with the struggling Johnny Cueto going for the Royals the Mets need to come out on top. Terry Collins also needs to go with Juan Lagares in CF and Michael Conforto as the DH the rest of the way. No more Michael Cuddyer!

The Royals strike 1st now it's time for the Mets to make it even.

Very entertaining game last night, FOX technical difficulties notwithstanding. Royals got off to that fast start with the inside the park home run by Escobar, Cespedes really messed that play up...what happened with him and the intros? Like I told you last night, the Royals are like roaches, they just won't die, down 3-1 in the 6th, they came back, down 4-3 in the 9th facing the up to now unhittable Familia, again no problem. Huge game tonight and deGrom has to come up big which I think he will.

By the way, you still think the Mets outfield is better than the Royals OF?

Yea a must win tonight, Cespedes was supposedly in the bathroom but who really knows what he was up too. The Royals are the one AL team that plays that National league ball they are tough, Familia left that pitch over the plate and it had no movement, I think on that pitch the delay hurt him.

I said in this series the Mets OF will play a bigger part. Right now Alex Gordan and the Royals have the edge.

ok 20 minutes away from game time.
