Yankees have change of plans.

Took some time to write something about the NY Yankees since they are the one's worth writing about these days. So here it goes, help me out.

We are a little over 2 months into the season and the NY Yankees are in 1st place, currently 11 games over 500, at 34- 23, this was not supposed to be but here we are today.

This was supposed to be the year in which the "Baby Bombers" learned how to get better for the future, many of us were expecting some growing pains but in their 1st full season of transition baseball, the Yanks find themselves sitting pretty.

The catalyst for this season's surprise has been Aaron Judge who has taken over NY, last season it was Gary Sanchez who was the talk of the town but a slow start and injuries have turned all the attention towards Judge who has killed it.

If the season ended today we may have to give Aaron Judge the MVP, that's how good he has been.
So far the Yanks have had no problems scoring runs and the pitching has held up, they are 4th when it comes to ERA, and 3rd in team batting.

If things continue to fall in place the Yanks will have to make some re-adjustments going forward cause this is the NY Yankees and they are not going to let an opportunity pass them by. The plans have obviously changed going forward for now.

So far so good but still a long ways to go, the Yankees were supposed to take their lumps in 2017 but this is baseball and the Yanks have come too play.

Well, I for one don't know what else to say about Judge. That guy has defied all expectations and the best thing is that he seems to be so level headed, not letting all the glitz and glamour get to his head like some other young players in NYC. Yeah, at first I was all "we're playing with house money" but if this continues we'll have to rethink that and go for it. I just hope that the Yankees don't do anything stupid but I have faith in Cashman. If the old man was still around, that's a different story but this leadership regime seems to have a much more calculated vision for the team. Let's see how the next couple of weeks unfold for the Bombers.

On another note, very quietly the Mets are playing some good ball of late. Shaved off 4 games from the Nats lead. Not saying that they'll catch them but might want to keep your eye on them.

Yea Judge has really outdone himself, the guy can't get any better, oh and well deserved jab at Harvey, Judge does seem to have things under control. Going forward I think the Yanks may have to trade one of their prospects for some arms, but we'll see how that goes, they just gotta be smart by moving the ones that may turn out to be lemons.

The Mets are playing better but can't get too excited over a few games, talk to me when they have Familia and Noah back, and when Cespedes is 100%. Like I said before, I'm now looking at this season as a rebuild, waiting for the injured to come back and waiting for when the Mets bring up Amed Rosario to take over Cabrerra at short who looks old. That's who I look at this season now.
